VACATION
The Ascension Parish School Board shall grant vacation time to 12-month full-time personnel in accordance with applicable schedules approved by the Board. The Superintendent shall be responsible for maintaining the schedule and pertinent regulations governing the taking of vacation time.
Employees will accrue vacation on a monthly basis, once an employee reaches the maximum allowed, accrual will stop until the banked amount falls below the maximum. Employees exceeding their vacation leave will automatically be deducted at full pay.
All vacation leave must be applied for and approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Any unused vacation leave at the time of separation (termination, resignation, retirement, entrance into DROP, or death) shall be paid to the employee or his/her heirs on or before the next regular payday for the pay cycle during which the employee was working at the time of separation following the date of separation, or no later than fifteen (15) days following the date of separation, whichever occurs first, at the employee's daily rate of pay.
