STUDENT AWARDS
The Ascension Parish School Board realizes the importance of recognizing outstanding achievement attained by students. Consequently, the Board has set forth the following criteria for recognizing the superior performance of students.
STUDENT LETTER AWARDS/JACKETS
Athletics
Letter Requirements:

Football: |
A player shall have played in varsity games for a total of sixteen quarters or 40% of the quarters played and completed the season.
|
|
|
Basketball: |
A player shall have played in varsity games for a total of 40% of the quarters played and completed the season.
|
|
|
Baseball: |
A player shall have played in varsity games for a total of 40% of the innings played and completed the season.
|
|
|
Track: |
A player shall have participated in varsity meets and have scored points in 40% of the meets and completed the season. |
Jacket Award:

1. |
Letterman Jackets shall be given to students during their junior year.
|
|
|
2. |
If a student is academically ineligible as a junior, the Letterman Jacket shall be awarded in his/her senior year.
|
|
|
3. |
Once an award jacket has been earned, it cannot be taken back. |
Academics
The Academic Award Jacket should continue with its present set of criteria. (It is recommended that this jacket be given to a student regardless of already having a letter jacket from another area.)
Other Groups Jacket Award
All other groups shall give jackets at the junior year.
Organizations which are not financially able to purchase jackets may assess the student a portion of the jacket cost. The following assessment schedule shall apply:

A student shall receive only one school jacket unless he/she also qualified for an Academic Jacket. Students who earn an Academic Jacket may also be given a jacket from another group. When a student letters in more than one activity (i.e athletics and band), the school cost of the jacket is to be shared among or between the organizations.
