REPORT CARDS
It is the policy of the Ascension Parish School Board that reports concerning student progress shall be made to the parent or legal guardian of all students on a regularly scheduled basis. The Board shall also encourage the administration and staff to work together to improve methods for evaluating children's progress and develop more meaningful ways to report achievement to parents.
DEFICIENCY REPORTS
In the event a student is making a D or an F in any subject, it shall be the responsibility of the teacher to send a deficiency report to the parent or guardian. This deficiency report shall be sent to the parent or guardian in the middle of the nine-week reporting period and shall be signed by the principal and/or the teacher. The parent or guardian shall acknowledge receipt of the deficiency report by signing the report and returning it to the school.
Communication between teacher and parent or guardian concerning possible failure is encouraged anytime during each nine-week reporting period. Teachers shall communicate with the parent or guardian when a student is not making a D or an F but, in the teacher's opinion, the student is not performing at a level comparable with his or her aptitude.
