COMPETENCY BASED EDUCATION AND PUPIL PROGRESSION

 

 

The Ascension Parish School Board has developed and adopted a Pupil Progression Plan, outlining regulation and procedures for promotion of students, in accordance with statutory provisions.  The Superintendent and/or his/her designee shall be responsible for the implementation of the Pupil Progression Plan as outlined by guidelines of the State Department of Education.  The Plan contains regulations and procedures to be followed in connection with matters relating to pupil progression under the following headings:

           

            REGULAR PLACEMENT -The Plan addresses these areas of placement: promotion, retention, compensatory programs and/or remediation, exceptional students; specially designed regular instructional programs, acceleration, and transfer students.

            ALTERNATIVES TO REGULAR PLACEMENT

            REVIEW OF PLACEMENT

            POLICIES ON RECORDS AND REPORTS

            POLICIES ON DUE PROCESS

            DEFINITIONS OF TERMS

 

The Board shall be apprised periodically concerning implementation of all regulations contained in the Plan, and an annual report shall be submitted to the Board outlining the progress of the programs.
