Ribbon Cutting for Prairieville Middle School Classroom Addition

Prairieville, La. – Ascension Public Schools will hold a ribbon cutting for the new school addition at Prairieville Middle School (PVM) this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The $15 million project was built in three phases starting 2012 and includes a new cafeteria, kitchen, administration offices and library.

DETAILS: Following the ribbon cutting will be a tour of the new facilities, a reception for the 2016-17 Teachers of the Year and the 6:30 p.m. Ascension Parish School Board meeting.

  • Dutchtown High teacher Brenden Simoneaux won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching
  • Ascension Public Schools earned the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fourth consecutive year. Ascension is one of only two school districts in Louisiana to achieve this honor.
